Prayers needed!!!!!

What was suppose to be an uneventful weekend has started out in a bad way. Last night when going to bed Cody told Diane that his groin area hurt. It turns out that the gland on the right side of his groin is swollen pretty bad and is hurting him. Diane called the Dr. and I was getting ready to take him in to Georgetown. But, the doctor said we didn't need to come in unless he has a fever. If he has a fever it is possible that it's an infection. The fact that she has told us to enjoy the weekend and she will see us Monday speaks volumes. I spoke to her for a little while and asked her what she thought was going on and she believes it's the beast. We hope and pray that it isn't. I asked her if we are at the cross roads now and she believes we are. Cody's liver is not well, so we can't continue chemo. The half dose of chemo he had a few weeks ago appear to have no effect on the neuroblastoma. With the apparent progress of the beast in his lungs, bones, esophagus and groin the prognoses is not good. If Diane is up to it we will all go in to Georgetown on Monday. It appears that "the talk" is now inevitable.

Cody has been extremely irritable the past few days. We believe he is in pain and that is his way of expressing it. He just can't help it. I think we will be putting him on morphine soon.

Cody has been saving his money from the sale of candy to go to the beach. Most of you know that he has always loved the beach. It appears that we will be going soon. I think we will be heading South for the warm weather. I will be talking with the doctor about a gap in his radiation treatment to find a good time for the trip.

Diane is a wreck and I'm numb. This is a day that we have not wanted to come. It's the day when it all seems to smack you right in the face.

Please, please, please pray for Cody....

Corie, I will have the doctor get in touch with the Red Cross on Monday. Love you!

I will get the ball rolling on the Red Cross message, that way it doesn't take a week for me to get it and all the doctor has to do is sign off on it. I anticipate being home by next Saturday and will be bringing the kids over as soon as I get home.

I will continue to pray.

I love you.

Mickey, I read your post last night, and tried and tried to come up with the right words to say, and just couldn't find them. I still don't have the words in mind - just know that I have you and Diane and Cody, Justin, and Daniela all in my prayers.

Prayers for peace, and strength, and healing.

My soul cries for all of you. I will continue to pray for Cody. Stay strong as you always have.

Mickey, I read this yesterday but didn't have the words to express how I was feeling and today I find that I still don't. Cody and your entire family have had to experience something that no family should have to endure and have shown unimaginable courage and strength through it all. I know that I am just one of so many that believe that somehow he is going to get through this latest setback, he is teh strongest kid I have ever met. I like so many others will continue to pray for Cody and the entire Johnson family to get through this.

Mickey, My continued prayers of strength and healing! The one prayer that kept coming back to me yesterday during the marathon was that the Lord will be with you and that you will know that you are not going through this alone. Rely on the the strength of the Lord to help you through.

I will post a link on our blog. Please let me know if you would like for me to remove it. Normally I ask before I place a link, but your needs are urgent and your time is precious.

Johnson Family,

Diane this is Tina (from the Mall). I have not been in touch with anyone so I was unaware of how things have changed with Cody. When I was in touch with Janice more I would ask every once in a while and the news had been promising. I work with someone who has been involved in fund raising for Cody and she told me about the blog site. I won't even try to express how I feel because compared to what you all are feeling it doesn't even matter. I will continue to check the blog and keep you all in my prayers. :)
