A great weekend..

We had a very nice weekend. Saturday we went back up to the Baltimore Aquarium. We had a slight meltdown but we were able to weather it and finish the day. It's been great having Lori here. She will be leaving tomorrow and we will miss her. Cody has a busy next couple weeks. This week he will go in tomorrow for his breathing treatment and his immune booster. Next week he has CT scan, Bone scan and MIBG. The following week on the 18th he will get his port if all goes well. I'm not sure when hi next trip to New York.

I was able to get a 10 mile run in yesterday. Unfortunately I wasn't able to run the whole way. I made it to about 8.5 and had to walk. I broke the cardinal rule of hydration and food. Although it wasn't that hot yesterday it was very humid. After I got back home I did some grass cutting and still wasn't smart enough to eat anything. At 1 o'clock I needed to lay down. When I grow up, I want to be smart... :D

I feel pretty confident in saying that my beloved Penguins are all but finished. Watching them play on Saturday night was very painful. Detroit is just too good. Pittsburgh will have to win 3 games in a row and I just don't see that happening.

It sounds like you had a weekend like mine. I remembered to hydrate, and I was still ready for bed by 8:00.

Overall it sounds like you had a good weekend. Humidity can sneak up on you and wear you down quick.

Good news on the date for getting the port for Cody. It should make things easier.

Your Penguins are still in!

It looks like things are on a pretty even keel at the moment, Mickey. I'm so glad to see that - hope you're having a chance to catch your breath, so to speak...

Daniela, that's quite a guitar!!

Hugs to the DeckApe family!

Go Peguins! Don't count them out yet!

The weekend sounds great! Lori had a good long visit it sounds like and I am sure Cody loved it.

Oh, and great news on the port. Praying for everything to go well.

Hey there,

Sounds like everyone is sailing on some nice calm waters right now, enjoy.
I sure hope you didn't give up on the Pens too early last night or you missed some good plays. They are still in! Pittsburgh is explosive and the city is waiting for Wednesday's game. Give kisses to everyone! Love BigSis

I was reading through the last week of updates and was happy to see that things are progressing. Cody completed 1 week and got to see his girlfriend! You got in a 10 mile run/walk.

I've never been through anything like this with a child or loved one but reading your blog just encourages me and lets me know I have nothing to complain about.

Prayers continue for the family.

Don't count Penguins out yet. 3 OT game was awesome. Odds are against them but... Keep the faith.

Glad Cody is doing well, got to blow his first bubble- like you say its the little things and each day is a gift. he is lucky to have such a caring & awesome girlfriend. She and all the nurses are what make it all bearable.

God continue to bless you all...

Mick,

The Pens are like you and: the underdog. Strong, fiesty. Stickin it to you even when the odds say 'give it up'. Never underestimate the power of the underdog...
